We are currently working on optimizing the workflow we use to bring the 4D BIM models into virtual reality, so the model can be viewed via the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift.
The need for optimisation of the models is due to the fact the file formats and model geometry from modelling software packages such as Autodesk Revit and Synchro or Tekla are not suited to the game engine environment. As such, our development team have engineered a solution to integrate 4D Models seamlessly into the VR world for a fully immersive 4D solution.

Our team of coding nerds is also developing a plugin for Unity to handle the Level Of Detail of the models' mesh depending on render distance. To make the frame rate of the simulation smoother, this plugin will will render fewer vertices the further the camera is from the object. This will reduce the cost in performance vertices that is sent to the GPU to be drawn, which improves the quality and flow for large projects. This would normally be handled by the artist in a modeling package such as Maya, but with our solution this will be done on import.
